PAEDIATRIC LIVER FOUNDATION DINNER-AUCTION

For eleven years Trish Carter of Ottawa and a loyal group of friends and volunteers have staged an annual fundraiser for paediatric liver causes  in the capital.   Trish was inspired to get involved when her son, at age eight, was diagnosed with a chronic liver condition.   He's twenty three day, and living a full life.   Thanks to the Paediatric Liver Foundation event, other youngsters and families in Ottawa are doing well too.

On Thursday, Nov. 3, Trish and her posse staged their last event, a dinner, auction and fashion show at the St. Elias Centre.  Again, it was a full house.  The guest speaker was Tony Bhathal,  who donated a piece of his liver to his young daughter, who has a form of liver disease.  Tony and his wife Arlene are promoting organ donation, so that other children don't have to wait on a long list for a gift of life.   beadonor.ca

I was honoured to be the emcee of the event.  Shepherd's Fashions (Trainyards) provided the fashions, and a generous group of guests did their part by supporting a great cause.
